Midfielder of the national team of Ukraine, Heorhiy Sudakov, will miss the decisive match of the sixth qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup against Iceland. This was announced in the official UAF Telegram channel.

Sudakov was included in the national team’s application for the November selection matches, however, in the match against France (0:4), the midfielder remained on the bench. After the game, it became known that the football player was injured.

Due to the injury, Sudakov is forced to leave the location of the national team and return to the club, where he will undergo further treatment and recovery.

George made his debut for the national team in May 2021 in a friendly against Bahrain, which ended in a 1:1 draw. In total, he played 32 matches in a Ukrainian shirt, scoring four goals.

In the current selection, the midfielder played in three matches: against France (0:2), Azerbaijan (1:1), where he scored a goal, as well as in the first match against Iceland (5:3). Then he left the field early due to a hand injury.

Sudakov is currently the only personnel loss of Ukraine before the match against Iceland, which will be decisive in the fight for the qualification playoffs of the World Cup-2026.
