Kick It Out reported that Grealish received the award for his consistent support for people with disabilities. Jack sheds light on their life experiences.
The organization recognized his personal commitment to the cause, from stories about his own family’s experiences to famous goal celebrations for a young Finley fan with cerebral palsy, and his role as a Paralympic ambassador.
The award has a special personal meaning for Grealish as his younger sister Holly, who he calls his best friend, also has cerebral palsy.
“Winning this is huge,” Grealish said. “Everyone knows what I try to do off the field. It’s a topic very close to me because my younger sister has a disability and cerebral palsy, so it’s always a special pleasure to win such awards,” Jack emphasized.
Grealish is also experiencing a renaissance on the football pitch. After moving to Everton, he is finding his best form again, starting regularly. The 30-year-old winger has already scored 5 goals in 10 Premier League matches and was even named the Premier League Player of the Month in August.
