“As a result of the first shelling, one person died, several floors of the hospital were destroyed. Evacuation of patients and staff began. Rescuers and policemen arrived at the scene of the attack to help people. At the same time, during the evacuation of the sick, the enemy struck again. As of now, it is known about six dead, including a policeman. Another policeman was wounded,” Klymenko wrote in a telegram.
The National Police added that as a result of the attack, according to preliminary data, 10 people were injured.
“This morning, the enemy delivered a double blow to the hospital and the residential sector in the regional center, using unmanned aerial vehicles… The search and rescue operation is ongoing,” the message says.
“Among the seriously injured are two medical workers: a doctor and a nurse who were in the reception department. They are currently being operated on. The reception department of the hospital was destroyed, one of the floors and the roof of the building were partially destroyed,” the Ministry of Health said.
Meanwhile, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that Ukrainian police officers have suffered losses among their personnel for the second day in a row. “In Kryvyi Rih, the search continues at the site of yesterday’s attack on the police building. According to available information, one more employee may be under the rubble,” the minister said.
Earlier, the Sumy Regional Military Administration reported that Russian troops struck Sumy with “Shakheds”, a hospital was hit.
The Russian military regularly attacks Ukrainian regions with various types of weapons – attack UAVs, rockets, anti-aircraft missiles, and anti-aircraft missiles.
The leadership of Russia denies that the Russian army during a full-scale war inflicts targeted strikes on the civilian infrastructure of the cities and villages of Ukraine, killing the civilian population and destroying hospitals, schools, kindergartens, energy and water supply facilities.
The Ukrainian authorities and international organizations qualify these strikes as war crimes by the Russian Federation and emphasize that they are purposeful in nature.
