The source refused to disclose the name of the company, but specified that the agreement on the supply of drones to Russia was completed in 2023.

“Although the Chinese government may not admit it, it will try to keep its growing support (of Russia. – Ed.) under wraps,” added the official quoted by The Times.

He, however, confirmed a Reuters report that Russia has developed a weapons program in China for the development and production of long-range attack drones, which it uses in the war against Ukraine.

In a comment to The Times, a NATO representative noted that the new information about China’s military support to Russia “causes deep concern” and that Alliance members “are holding consultations on this issue.”

In September, US Deputy Secretary of State Kurt Campbell was the first to say that China was directly helping the Russian military machine by supporting its efforts to wage war against Ukraine.

The US has repeatedly warned China against supporting Russia’s defense industry and has imposed hundreds of sanctions aimed at limiting Moscow’s ability to use certain technologies for military purposes.
