The EU finally approved one of the “most violent” packages of sanctions against

The European Union finally approved one of the “most rigid” packages of sanctions against Russia, which, in particular, had a decrease in the price ceiling for oil.

This was reported by the EU Council, European Truth writes.

On Friday, July 18, the EU Council adopted the 18th package of economic and individual restrictive measures that will hit the energy, banking and military sectors of Russia, as well as trade with the EU

In addition, the EU Council supplemented this package, agreeing additional measures for Belarus.

The sanction package includes 55 people: 14 physical and 41 legal. From now on, the total number of persons included in the list exceeded 2.5 thousand.

The EU’s main diplomatician Kai Callas has called this sanction package “one of the most rigid” packages against Russia.

“Every sanction weakens Russia’s ability to wage war. The message is clear: Europe will not retreat in its support of Ukraine. The EU will continue to increase pressure until Russia has stopped the war,” she said.

The EU Council approved a sanction package shortly after Friday morning, it was agreed by the Ambassadors of the European Union. This became possible because Slovakia and Malta have refused from lock.

To the package Sanctions entered 105 of the “shadow fleet” vessels, reducing the price ceiling for Russian oil and measures against banks and companies outside the Russian Federation, which are involved in supporting its military machine.
