71% of EU citizens support economic sanctions against the Russian government, companies and individuals, and 68% agree with providing financial support to Ukraine.
Six out of ten approve of giving Ukraine the status of a candidate for joining the EU, and 58% agree that the EU should finance the purchase and supply of military equipment to Ukraine.
The war in Ukraine continues to be the most important issue at EU level (31%) out of 15 points (followed by immigration (28%) and the international situation (22%)), while 76% of European respondents agree that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is a threat to EU security.
The standard Eurobarometer survey was conducted from October 10 to November 5, 2024 in 27 EU member states. A total of 26,525 EU citizens were interviewed through personal interviews. Interviews were also conducted in nine candidate and potential candidate countries (all but Ukraine) and Great Britain.
According to one of the latest polls, American citizens remain divided on the issue of military support for Ukraine.
At the same time, compared to the previous year, the number of those who approve of military support for Ukraine has increased in Germany.
