“Also, by the end of 2028, we will refuse any budget grants from the European Union,” he promised.

Kobakhidze also noted that the opening of negotiations on the issue of accession to the European Union is used as a tool to blackmail Tbilisi, as previously the same thing happened with the issue of the candidate’s status.

“It is categorically unacceptable to consider integration into the European Union as a mercy,” he said.

Kobakhidze’s statement came after the European Parliament in its resolution called not to recognize the parliamentary elections in Georgia on October 26, following the results of which “Georgian Dream” declared victory.

Before that, at the October 17 summit in Brussels, the leaders of the EU countries repeated their statement about the de facto halting of the European integration process of Georgia, referring to the anti-democratic decisions of the authorities, in particular the law on “foreign agents” and against “LGBT propaganda”.
