Azerbaijan is preparing a lawsuit against Russia through Avitrosh near Actau

Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev said his country is preparing documents to apply to international courts against Russia in connection with the Azerbaijani Airlines Airlines Airlines (Azal).

“We are ready to wait ten years, but justice must win. And, unfortunately, the situation that is now in a suspended state does not contribute to the development of bilateral relations between Russia and Azerbaijan,” he said.

Aliyev emphasized that Azerbaijan has a clear understanding of what happened to Azal aircraft, and Russian officials also have this information. “The question arises: why do they not do the way any neighbor would do in a similar situation?” He said.

Aliyev stated that Azerbaijan demands that Russia be guilty, prosecution of those responsible for the airplane, paying compensation to the families of the dead, as well as compensation for damages suffered by Azal.

On December 25, 2024, the Azerbaijani Airlines Airlines Embraer, which headed from Baku to the Terrible, dropped near the Actau in Kazakhstan. 38 people were killed in the accident.

Then President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev stated that the aircraft was fired from the ground.
