He added that his “peace formula” as a global initiative has been in existence for two years.
“And maybe someone wants a Nobel Prize for their political biography of a ‘frozen truce’ instead of real peace, and the only reward from Putin in return will be more suffering and disasters,” Zelenskyy said.
In his speech, he laid out the main points of how he sees the achievement of peace.
“We must restore nuclear security, the use of energy as a weapon must stop, we must guarantee food security, we must bring home all our captured soldiers and civilians, likely deported to Russia.
We must adhere to the UN Charter and guarantee our right, Ukraine’s right to territorial integrity and sovereignty, as we do for every other state,” Zelenskyy said.
“We must withdraw the Russian occupation forces, which will put an end to hostilities in Ukraine. We must bring the perpetrators of war crimes to justice. We must stop the ecocide… We must not allow a second or similar Russian invasion.
We must make it clear: the war is over. This is the “formula of peace”. Which of its parts can be unacceptable for anyone who adheres to the UN Charter?”, the head of state added.
Zelensky also called on the international community put pressure on Russia and deter it from shellingwhich will pose a threat to Ukrainian nuclear energy.
Before that, in an interview with American media, Volodymyr Zelenskyi said that he considered war with Russia “closer to the end” than many believe.
