“In the training aviation brigade of the university, during a training flight, the Mi-2 helicopter crashed. The family of the university has suffered an irreparable loss – the crew of the aircraft, consisting of two people, died,” the KHNU notes.
It is known that investigators, specialized experts, specialists of the special commission of the Ministry of Defense are working at the scene.
As noted, “the command of the educational institution and the military unit comprehensively contributes to the “detailed analysis and establishment of the causes of the aviation event.”
The university expresses its condolences to the relatives and friends of the victims.
“Prior to the publication of the results of the investigation, we ask you to refrain from making assumptions and comments, to be understanding about the publication of sensitive information, in accordance with the established procedures and ethical norms,” the military academy urged.
This is not the first case at the university. In August, a first-year cadet of the Kharkiv National University of the Air Force died during a training and technical flight on the K-10 Swift aircraft.
