The agency also reminds that Witkoff’s visit to Moscow is expected next week.
Bloomberg notes that although Washington claims progress in negotiations with Ukraine, they still face the same obstacles as before: what suits Ukraine, does not suit Russia and vice versa.
The agency also emphasizes that the visit of the Ukrainian delegation is taking place at a delicate moment – when a corruption scandal is ongoing in Ukraine, as a result of which the head of the Office of the President, Andriy Yermak, was forced to resign.
Prehistory:
- The Axios portal previously reported that it was Yermak who was supposed to go to the US for negotiations on the “peace agreement”.
- As “Europeyska Pravda” reported, on November 25, American President Donald Trump announced that he had instructed Steve Witkoff and Dan Driscoll to finalize the terms of the draft “peace agreement” with the Russian Federation and Ukraine, for which Witkoff will go to Moscow, and in the event of the final stage of its preparation, Trump will meet with Putin and Zelensky.
- The media also wrote that Driscoll, during a visit to Kyiv, presenting a 28-point “peace plan”, told Western diplomats about the missile threat from Russia not only to Ukraine, thus promoting a “quick settlement” of the war.
