In the House of Representatives, 341 congressmen supported the resolution, 82 legislators opposed it. Senators gave 78 votes for the document, 19 against. Thus, the document was sent to President Biden for signature.
The passage of the resolution came after lawmakers in the lower house defeated Speaker Johnson’s plan to cut spending, as well as Trump’s initiative to verify US citizenship by those who vote in elections. Moreover, Republicans also spoke against it.
In the end, both chambers agreed on the terms of the resolution, which was passed without delay on Wednesday.

Biden has already welcomed the legislators’ decision, stressing that it will allow work on the adoption of budget bills until December. “My administration will work with Congress to ensure that these bills meet the needs of America’s national defense, veterans, seniors, children and working families, and address the pressing needs of the American people,” the US president said.
As reported by Ukrinform, the US administration is cooperating with Congress in order to preserve after the end of the financial year the remaining funding from the 60 billion dollar aid package to Ukraine.
