According to the President of Finland, Alexander Stubb, despite the fact that the situation in Ukraine is currently critical, it is better than it was three months ago.
This is reported by Yle.
As the President of Finland noted, it is currently difficult to estimate when the war, which has been going on for more than 2.5 years, will end.
“The situation is critical, but for Ukraine the state of affairs looks better than three months ago,” he said.
At the same time, the Finnish president noted as a positive moment the fact that peace talks have begun.
Stubb emphasized that the conditions for achieving peace, which were put forward by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi, were the return of territories, security guarantees, the prosecution of war criminals and the restoration of the country.
“We will continue to support Ukraine as long as it is needed,” he emphasized.
The President of Finland noted that he made his own choice, which complicates the role of a mediator in negotiations. At the same time, he assured that Finland’s support for Ukraine will continue as long as it is needed.
