“In particular, as the SBU stated, “the FSB commissioned an agent to carry out the contract killing of a media person in Kyiv””, — write: www.radiosvoboda.org
The SBU noted that they had established the identity of the organizer of contract crimes. “He turned out to be a resident of the temporarily occupied Crimea, who after the capture of the peninsula started working for the Russian special service,” the report says.
According to the SBU, the person mentioned was looking for “like-minded people” for their further recruitment into the FSB agency.
“The security service documented an attempt to “route” to Kyiv a resident of the peninsula recruited by the enemy, who crossed the border of our state through third countries. After arriving in the capital of Ukraine, the agent received from a resident from Crimea the coordinates of the cache from which he was supposed to take Makarov’s pistol with an equipped magazine. It was established that this weapon was used by the FSB to instruct an agent to carry out the contract killing of a media person in Kyiv,” the SBU said.
As the service stated, this person also received tasks from the special services of the Russian Federation to prepare terrorist attacks in several shopping malls and at a metro station in Kyiv during rush hour, when the locations would be the most crowded.
“In this way, the enemy planned to spread panic among the residents of the capital in order to destabilize the socio-political situation in Kyiv. The security service exposed the agent in advance and documented all his contacts with the FSB, which took place through a resident from Crimea,” the message reads.
The Security Service of Ukraine stated that the “resident from Crimea” was notified in absentia of suspicion under three articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: treason committed under martial law; terrorist act; illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives.
“Since the suspect is in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine, comprehensive measures are being taken to bring him to justice. The question regarding the qualification of the crimes of the executing agent is being resolved. The investigation into all participants of the FSB agent network is ongoing,” the Security Service added.
The SBU does not provide the names of the mentioned persons.
Ukrainian law enforcement officers regularly report the detention of persons they call Russian agents. They are suspected of treason, sabotage on the order of the Russian special services.
