Literally: “The Ministry of Defense officially said goodbye to the legendary aircraft. This was done, among other things, by a formation flight of eight aircraft over the Netherlands.”

Details: The country’s Ministry of Defense was reminded that the first of 213 F-16 fighters purchased by the Netherlands arrived at Leeuwarden Air Base on June 6, 1979.

The message added: for more than 45 years, the American-made fighter has proven its advantages both at home and abroad.

Literally: “For the Air Force, the F-16 era is over, but not for the F-16. Of the aircraft that have not been sold or scrapped over the years, 14 of the promised 18 are now in Romania.

They will train fighter pilots, not only Romanian, but also Ukrainian.

And the Netherlands is handing over the last F-16s to Ukraine for use in the fight against the Russians.”

We will remind: Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Breckelmans said in the summer that F-16 fighter jets from the Netherlands will be in Ukraine “in the near future.”

General of the Royal Netherlands Air Force Onno Eichelsheim said that Ukraine can use the F-16 aircraft provided by his country for strikes on Russian territory.
