On the morning of November 12, the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine resumed the hearing on the selection of a preventive measure for the suspect in the case of a corruption scheme in the energy sector, former adviser to the Minister of Energy, Ihor Myronyuk. The meeting started on November 11, but was postponed until today.

The prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office continued to analyze dialogues involving Myronyuk with President Volodymyr Zelenskyi’s former business partner in “Kvartal 95” Timur Mindich, whom NABU and SAP consider to be the head of a criminal organization that organized “large-scale corruption schemes” in the energy sector, and other people involved.

The prosecutor of the SAPS asks for Myronyuk to be taken into custody without the possibility of bail, and if the court does not agree to arrest without alternative, then the prosecutor’s office considers bail in the amount of 136.6 million hryvnias to be justified.

Myroniuk appears in the tapes of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau. NABU recorded that it was he under the code name “Rocket” and Dmytro Basov – “Tenor” (names and code names were first established by People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak, but then they were revealed by the prosecutor at the court) managed the shadow process: they controlled all purchases, personnel decisions and calculations of the state energy giant.

When asked by journalists in court on November 11, Myronyuk said that he had no relationship with Energoatom or the Ministry of Energy, but that he was his lawyer about his connections with Galushchenko.

According to the version of the investigation, which was read by the prosecutor at the meeting, Myronyuk is suspected, in particular, of illegal enrichment and money laundering.

“Galushchenko and Myronyuk were given the opportunity to use services for the legalization of funds by a criminal organization, accumulated by Myronyuk from criminal activities in the energy sector of Ukraine,” he said.

After 2023, Myronyuk became Galushchenko’s adviser. It was from this position that he apparently began to build his own vertical of influence in Energoatom, according to the investigation.

Myronyuk’s lawyer called the prosecution’s evidence “unconvincing” at the hearing.

Galushchenko, whom the government decided to remove from the post of Minister of Justice on November 12, said that he considers suspension for the duration of the investigation to be a “civilized and correct scenario” and that he intends to “defend himself legally and prove his position.”

Mindych, who, according to law enforcement sources, left Ukraine shortly before the November 10 search, has not yet commented on the situation.
