Details: It is indicated that the permission was granted in criminal proceedings, in which the circumstances of the change of ownership of “Inter” TV channel are being investigated. The investigation is being conducted on the grounds of forgery of documents (Part 1 of Article 358 of the Criminal Code) and financing of terrorism (Part 3 of Article 258-5 of the Criminal Code).

According to the expert’s opinion, the signature on behalf of the former owner of the “Inter” channel Igor Pluzhnikov on the electrophotocopy of the power of attorney dated May 23, 2005 was not made by him, but by another person. On the basis of a forged power of attorney, a month before Pluzhnikov’s death, the shares of the “Inter” TV channel were alienated in favor of the “Business world” association of Valery Khoroshkovsky.

In addition, in 2015, businessman Dmytro Firtash bought 29% of the shares of the Inter TV channel from Russia’s First Channel for $100 million. OJSC “First Channel” conducts anti-Ukrainian activities, promotes terrorists and separatists, therefore such actions are considered by the Ukrainian special services as financing of terrorist activities.

The authorized capital and property of PJSC “Telekanal Inter” were recognized as material evidence in criminal proceedings by the decision of the investigator. This is, in particular, the main office of the company in Kyiv on Dmytrivska Street with an area of 6,264.7 square meters.

The investigator asked for permission to inspect the premises in order to determine the appraised value of the property. In the court decision, there is a reference to the fact that physical evidence worth more than 200 amounts of subsistence minimum for able-bodied persons is transferred to the National Asset Management Agency.

The “Court Reporter” notes that Firtash became the majority owner of the “Inter” channel. As of April 2024, according to official data, his stake was 59.5%.

In May 2023, the SBU informed Firtash of suspicion of misappropriation of state gas worth 18 billion hryvnias, as well as his top managers. In connection with this, Firtash’s assets worth 7.4 billion hryvnias were seized in Ukraine.

Since 2021, personal sanctions have been applied to Firtash in Ukraine, including the blocking of assets.
