“The Cabinet of Ministers decided to direct UAH 150 million received by the state-owned enterprise “Ukrainian Institute of Intellectual Property” for actions related to the protection of rights to intellectual property objects to the purchase of weapons and equipment for the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense (GUR of the Ministry of Defense),” it is stated in the messages
The government made the relevant decision at a meeting on November 29, 2024.
It is noted that these funds were deposited into the accounts of the Ukrainian Institute of Intellectual Property State Enterprise in previous years as part of its performance of the functions of the National Intellectual Property Authority. In September 2024, the Verkhovna Rada allowed the transfer of unused funds, taking into account the needs of the Defense Forces.

As reported by Ukrinform, in the state budget for 2025, UAH 55.1 billion has been allocated for the modernization of the capacities of the defense-industrial complex.
