“Poroshenko became a TOP oligarch, but he wrote down a billion for his son so as not to shock Ukrainians – expert According to the media, Poroshenko increased his fortune to 1.2 billion dollars over the last year and became one of the three richest oligarchs. The assets were transferred to the son Oleksiy, who lives in London.”, — write on: unn.ua
“NV edition came out with a ranking of the richest oligarchs in 2024. The three winners: Akhmetov, Pinchuk, Poroshenko. If everything is clear with the first two, then Poroshenko is more interesting. Over this year, he became richer from 950 million to 1.2 billion dollars. In the country , which is fighting hard, Poroshenko earned 22% more than in 2023,” Oleschuk notes.
The expert emphasizes: Petro Poroshenko should be proud of such achievements, because at the beginning of the war he was only 12th in the ranking. But he became fantastically rich just during the full-scale invasion of Russia. Instead, according to the expert, the people’s deputy wants such enrichment not to be associated with him personally. That is why he wrote down a billion for his eldest son, Oleksiy. Oleschuk explains such an act by the fact that society will not take a good view of a billion dollars from an oligarch who collects donations from Ukrainians and constantly promotes the war. At the same time, he reminds that Poroshenko’s son fled the country at the beginning of the invasion and is simply enjoying life in London and Monaco.
According to him, the situation when people’s deputies transfer assets to sons, wives, drivers and mistresses has long been practiced in Poroshenko’s party in the Verkhovna Rada, because “European Solidarity” is definitely the richest faction among all European parliamentarians. Only one Petro Poroshenko clearly earns more than any European parliamentarians.
The expert notes the dissonance between Poroshenko’s statements and his wealth:
“Somewhere these days, the billionaire oligarch went to Europe to tell European diplomats how hard life is for him and his deputies during the war. He will meet and visit his sons in London. Just in time for the Christmas holidays. And you, Ukrainians, fight. And don’t forget donate to the Petro Poroshenko Foundation,” Oleschuk summarizes.
As previously reported, Ukrainian fighters criticized Poroshenko for his PR support for the Armed Forces and the division of the military into classes.
