Details: As noted, he thanked Putin for saying that he would use weapons of mass destruction in the event of an attack on Belarus.

“Just them [НАТО] attack us, we use nuclear weapons. And Russia is interceding for us,” Lukashenko said.

The self-proclaimed president of Belarus also “dreamed” that Russia, in the event of a possible response from the West, would use its entire nuclear arsenal and noted that in such a case, “it’s already a world war.”

He noted that the “red line” for Belarus is the state border.

“We stepped on it – the response will be immediate. We are preparing for it,” he added.

We will remind:

  • On September 25, Putin announced that Russia would expand the conditions under which it is ready to use nuclear weapons.
  • In response, the EU said that Putin’s new threats to use nuclear weapons against non-nuclear countries are another indication of his irresponsible behavior and will not change the EU’s position on continued support for Ukraine.
  • NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, who is leaving this post at the end of September, was skeptical of Vladimir Putin’s threats amid discussions about allowing Ukraine to launch long-range strikes against Russia.
  • The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andriy Sybiga, is convinced that the allies should strengthen their support for Kyiv despite the threats of the Russian leader, Vladimir Putin, because despite his words, he does nothing.
