The Israel Defense Forces claim to have struck the main headquarters of the Hezbollah group in the Lebanese capital, Beirut. This was reported by The Times of Israel on Friday, September 27.
According to IDF spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, the headquarters was built under civilian buildings in the suburbs of Dahiya.
He did not specify whether Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah was the target or whether he was present at the scene.
The newspaper notes that in recent weeks, Israel has eliminated most of Hezbollah’s top leadership.
On September 26, it became known that the commander of the air force of the Hezbollah group, Muhammad Hussein Sarour, was killed as a result of an Israeli airstrike in Beirut.
On September 20, the Israel Defense Forces confirmed the killing of a high-ranking Hezbollah commander, Ibrahim Akil. The IDF says Akil was Hezbollah’s head of military operations, the acting commander of an elite unit of the Radwan terrorist group, which Israel says is aiming to attack the country, and the leader of a plan to invade the Galilee.

On September 23, IDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi stated that on Monday morning the Israel Defense Forces began a preventive offensive operation against the Hezbollah terrorist group.
It later became known that according to intelligence guidance, the IDF conducted hundreds of strikes against Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon, including launchers, command posts and terrorist infrastructure.
Last day, during numerous series of strikes, the Israeli Air Force struck about 1,600 strikes against Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley.
The AP agency noted that Israel had not carried out such large-scale strikes since the Second Lebanon War in 2006.
At the same time, the publication Al-Manar, which belongs to the terrorist group Hezbollah, announced the launch of rocket attacks on Israel on the night of September 23-24 — on the Megiddo military airfield and the Ramat David airbase, located in the north of the Jewish state, as well as on nearby objects Haifa and Tiberias.
