Disability pensions will continue to be paid in December 2024 to all those to whom they were legally assigned.

Will the disability pension be paid or reduced in December?
The Ministry of Social Policy assures that the reform of medical and social expert commissions will not affect the amount of pensions, which people with disabilities receive.
The Ministry of Social Policy stressed that it is spreading on the network “incorrect information”, which causes citizens to have a negative attitude towards the MSEK reform and the system of social support for people with disabilities.
The Ministry assures that all people receiving disability pensions will continue to receive them after the MSEK reform. If payments and social guarantees are provided on legal grounds, their size will not be reduced.
We will remind that the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, announced that there will be a full audit of pensions and other payments to all officials who “organized” their disabilities.

Will the amounts of disability pensions change in December?
The conditions for awarding and the amounts of disability pensions are determined by the Law of Ukraine dated 07/09/2003 No. 1058-IV On mandatory state pension insurance (articles 30−35).
They are assigned to people with disabilities in the presence of insurance experience from 1 to 15 years (the required duration of the insurance period depends on the age at which the disability was established).
The size of the disability pension is calculated depending on the disability group as a percentage of the age pension:
▪ 100% old-age pensions — for persons with disabilities of group I;
▪ 90% old-age pensions — for persons with disabilities of the II group;
▪ 50% old-age pensions — for persons with disabilities of the III group.
At the same time, to the insurance length of service for calculating the amount of the pension by age, from which the amount of the disability pension is calculated, in addition to the acquired length of insurance the period from the date of establishment of disability to the age of 60 is counted.
The minimum amounts of disability pension payments in December 2024:
▪ for persons with disabilities of the 1st group — UAH 2760;
▪ for unemployed persons with disabilities of II and III groups — UAH 2520;
▪ for working persons with disabilities of II and III groups — UAH 2093.
A disability pension is granted from the date of establishment of disability, if the application for the appointment of a pension is submitted no later than three months from the date of establishment of disability. If the application for a pension is submitted later, the pension is granted from the date of application for it.
As a reminder, in December 2024, pension payments will increase for those pensioners who will turn 70, 75 and 80 years old within the month.
