DBR: the court sentenced the “Minister of Justice” of the “DPR” group to 12 years in prison in absentia

According to the materials of the State Bureau of Investigation, the Pechersk District Court of the city of Kyiv sentenced in absentia 12 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property to Yuriy Syrovatko, a former high-ranking official of one of the law enforcement agencies of the Donetsk region, the press service of the SBI reported on November 22.

The department does not name the official, but Syrovatko can be identified in the published photo.

“The ex-law enforcement officer betrayed Ukraine back in 2014, served the occupiers in various positions. After the beginning of the large-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, in April 2022 he headed the so-called “Ministry of Justice of the DPR”. In this position, the person involved actively carried out the instructions of the invaders regarding the formation of the appearance of the legitimacy of their power in the region,” the report says.

The law enforcement officers note that the convict constantly took part in public speeches regarding the creation and order of work of the occupation units of justice in the occupied territories.

“Also, the fake minister took part in the opening of the “RACS branch” in occupied Mariupol and signed an agreement on cooperation between the “Ministry of Justice of the DPR” and the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation in May 2023,” the DBR says.

At the beginning of April of this year, Deputy Minister of Justice Valeryia Kolomiets said on Radio Svoboda’s “Svoboda.Ranok” program that, according to the Office of the Prosecutor General, about 5,000 criminal proceedings have been opened in Ukraine based on the fact of collaboration.
