Details: Comer recalled how in 2019, the Democratic-controlled House of Representatives impeached then-President Donald Trump based on his attempt to use a foreign leader, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi, to benefit his presidential campaign.

” The Biden-Harris administration recently flew the same foreign leader — Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky — on a flight funded by American taxpayers to Pennsylvania, a state that is a battleground state in the upcoming 2024 presidential election and has been called “the most difficult battleground for a vice president to win Kamala Harris,” writes the head of the committee.

According to him, the Committee seeks to determine whether the Biden-Harris administration tried to use Zelenskyi to promote the presidential campaign of Vice President Harris, and if so, whether there was necessarily an abuse of official authority.

“The committee seeks to understand the circumstances that prompted – and any facts that could justify – the Biden-Harris administration to transport President Zelensky on an Air Force Department plane to Pennsylvania,” the letter reads.

Comer also noted that Zelenskyi’s itinerary included a stop in Pennsylvania to meet with Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, who “was until recently considered a promising candidate for further Democratic hopes of retaining control of the White House.”

It is worth noting that the meeting with Shapiro had an official purpose – the signing of an agreement on assistance to the Zaporizhzhia region from the side of Pennsylvania.

Komer also expressed dissatisfaction with Zelensky’s critical remarks about Trump and his vice-presidential candidate in an interview with The New Yorker.

“The committee is investigating any coordination or communication between the Biden-Harris administration, the Pennsylvania governor’s office, and President Zelensky regarding the use or solicitation of the use of public property for political gain by Vice President Harris’ presidential campaign,” the letter reads.

“The committee believes that no foreign entity – regardless of whether the Department of Justice considers it ‘malicious’ or not – should be allowed to interfere in American elections,” Comer emphasized.

It will be recalled that the Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, published a letter addressed to President Zelensky with ultimatums to Ukraine on Wednesday.

“Dear President Zelenskyi, I demand that you immediately dismiss Ukraine’s ambassador to the United States, Oksana Markarova,” the document begins.

Johnson cited an event during the visit of the President of Ukraine to the USA as the motive for his ultimatum – his visit to the production of projectiles in Pennsylvania.

It is worth noting that immediately after the start of Volodymyr Zelenskyi’s visit to the USA, relations with the leadership of the Republican Party cooled sharply. Trump refused to meet with Zelensky, and Speaker Johnson hinted at a possible disruption of meetings in Congress.
