The construction of a railway that will connect China, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, bypassing Russia, has begun. The project will make it possible to deliver goods from China through Central Asia to the European Union.
This is reported by Tazabek.
At the ceremony of the start of construction on December 27, the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov noted the strategic importance of the new highway. He stated that the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway corridor will become the southern bridge of Eurasia, providing access to the markets of West Asia, the Middle East and Europe. The route will reduce the delivery time of goods from China to Europe by seven days and increase the competitiveness of the region as a transit hub.
Even here, Putin was deceived and betrayed. Uzbekistan decided to introduce financial sanctions against Russia
The railway will run from Kashgar in Xinjiang (China) through Torugart, Makmal and Jalal-Abad (Kyrgyzstan) to Andijan (Uzbekistan). In the future, the route will be connected to the transport networks of Central Asia, the Caspian Sea and Turkey. The total cost of the project is 4.7 billion dollars. Financing is distributed as follows: 51% belongs to China, 24.5% to Kyrgyzstan and the same amount to Uzbekistan. The capacity of the road will be 15 million tons of cargo annually.
The project is part of the initiative “Belt and Road” proposed by China in 2013. It envisages the creation of an economic corridor through Central Asia, the Middle East and Europe, as well as a sea route connecting China with Africa and South Asia.
