“Five steps that Ukraine should take.”, — write: www.pravda.com.ua
War and corruption are the two main problems of the country now. And if war is an evil that came from outside, then corruption is something that erodes faith in Victory from within.
Corruption is derived from the concentration of power in several cabinets.

The more power one or two “managers” have, the heavier the suitcases with “black cash”, the greater the disappointment of the world, the deeper the despair of one’s own people. Therefore, the overdue resignation of the head of the President’s Office is only the first step on the long road of struggle for democracy. Because it is the guarantee of transparency, control and responsibility.
Time to remember that there is a Constitution. According to her, Ukraine is a democratic state. It should be noted that the concept of “Vice President” is absent in the Constitution. And that we are a parliamentary-presidential republic, where the parliament elected by the people is one of the branches of government. More important than five hired managers. To remember that we pay too much for freedom to allow a slide into authoritarianism. Remember this always, and not only when it gets politically heated.
The hardest winter is ahead. The situation at the front is difficult. Difficult negotiations. Shelling of the enemy with the aim of destroying life in cities and villages. We need to persevere. For this, it is necessary to return to the meaning that was so disliked in the Office of the President. Return to democracy.
What is needed already:
1. Urgently form a government of national unityas it was in Great Britain, in Israel during the war. When in the most difficult times, the government and the opposition put aside politics and became a single entity for the sake of saving the state. It should become the Government of not one party, but the representation of all parliamentary factions.
2. Stop the attack on local self-government. This is the basis of democracy. Its foundation. Enough to destroy it!
Many cities were besieged by local security forces and some heads of military administrations on instructions from the Office of the President. This siege and politically motivated persecution must stop immediately. Because it is the local self-government that today carries a significant part of the country’s activities on its shoulders: it eliminates the consequences of shelling, supports the life of communities, and ensures their defense.
3. Stop the war on anti-corruption agencies, activists and the public sector. The authorities should begin to perceive this category as a help, not an irritant.
4. The practice of destroying freedom of speech must be stopped! Free media is one of the foundations of democracy.
5. Prevent possible suspects from escaping. The president must give a clear signal to society – he is with the people and is ready to fight against corruption. Therefore, it is important that law enforcement officers and border guards no longer allow the escape of those involved in scandals and investigations. Society expects fairness and justice in this shameful story.
The implementation of these steps will restore the confidence of Ukrainians in the authorities and the world’s commitment to Ukraine.
It’s time for all politicians to stop thinking about elections and act in the logic of elections and start thinking about the interests of the state. That is why one should not go to extremes, when witch hunts are organized and political opponents are killed, when they try to cover up a scandal in order to protect a corrupt friend. These extremes are very harmful to the country. Because behind them the essence is lost – how the state will emerge from this crisis. After all, it is about our independence and sovereignty.
Now we need to endure, survive. That is why the President needs democracy, no matter how he is convinced to the contrary. Because with a strong democracy, he will have the powerful energy of the Ukrainian people, which is invaluable in the fight against the aggressor and rampant external pressure.
And then the front will feel that behind it is a united and consolidated rear, and the world will see our unity. And then the energy of consolidation will work for Ukraine and give us strong “cards” for peace negotiations. That is why it is time to return democracy. It is necessary for Ukraine to win.
