EU High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security Policy Josep Borrell reacted to the thesis voiced by the US presidential candidate about the insufficient participation of Europe in helping Ukraine.

Details: According to him, the assistance that the EU provided to Ukraine after the beginning of the Russian full-scale invasion is not small.
“I heard one of the American candidates who said – the Europeans are not doing their part. It’s good, but everything we do for Ukraine – in the military, economic, financial, humanitarian dimensions – is more than you (Americans – ed.) This is more than 130 billion euros,” Borrell said.
He reminded that the military part of the aid provided by the EU countries amounts to 45 billion euros, which is less than what the USA provides, but at the same time “is not a small amount.”
In addition, the top EU diplomat emphasized that in the political dimension, the EU granted Ukraine the status of a candidate country and the prospect of membership, which, according to Borrell, was “unthinkable” before the start of a full-scale Russian war.
Just now, the EU is providing Ukraine with enormous assistance, accepting almost five million refugees, he added.
Recently, Trump repeated the repeatedly refuted thesis that the USA gave Ukraine “almost 300 billion dollars” and Europe – “only a small part of this amount”. And accused US President Joe Biden of not even trying to change the situation.
