The former head of the OP together with several of Zelensky’s advisers was supposed to hold talks with Donald Trump’s envoy Steve Witkoff and the son-in-law of the US president, Jared Kushner, Axios reported.
“Ukrainian officials stated that the goal was to finalize the positions of the United States and Ukraine before the trip of Witkoff and Kushner to Moscow for a meeting with Vladimir Putin,” the article reads.
One Axios source said Yermak’s resignation “put the negotiations in question” but would not lead to changes in Ukraine’s position on ending the war.
