According to OVA, 16 settlements of Siverskodonetsk and Swativsky districts of Luhansk region are in the area of active fighting, the territories of other settlements of the region are temporarily occupied.
Lugansk Ova informs that in the settlements of the Krasnorchensk settlement military administration of Swativ district, which are in the area of active fighting, there are eight people. Radio Liberty, among other things, was interested in data on the number of civilians in the territory of the region controlled in Ukraine.
“Today, in the settlements in the area of active hostilities, almost all residential buildings are damaged, a considerable number of them are destroyed. Information on damaged and destroyed buildings can be specified after security and stabilization measures, ”the request said.
Earlier, Donetsk Ova reported Radio Svoboda that there are 837 settlements under the Russian occupation in the Donetsk region (447 of them – from 2014), the estimated area of the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk region is 66.7 %.

On February 24, 2022, Russia attacked Ukraine on Earth and in the air along the entire length of the common border. The territory of Belarus was used to invade the Kyiv region with the intention of seizing the capital. In the south, the Russian army, in particular, occupied part of Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions, and in the north – districts of Sumy region and Chernihiv region.
The President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin calls a full -scale invasion of the Russian Federation. Initially, its purpose was determined by “demilitarization and denacification”, later – “protection of Donbass”. And in September and early October, Russia attempted to annex partially occupied Zaporizhzhya, Kherson, Donetsk and Lugansk regions. Ukraine and the West stated that these actions were illegal. On October 12, the UN General Assembly approved a resolution condemning the annexation of the Russian Federation of the occupied territories of Ukraine.
In part of the Luhansk and Donetsk region, the fighting began in 2014.
