“Citizens aged 18 to 25 must be given basic and professional training,” he said.
Tymochko clarified that it is not about mobilization, but basic training for everyone.
“This is the training of people who will have basic and professional skills in handling weapons, choosing a specialty. That is, they will know what the army lives and breathes, in order to remove many fears, and at the same time, to have a prepared population. This is the right approach,” said the head of the Council of Reservists of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Last month, the adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Serhiy Leshchenko, said that American politicians from both parties are putting pressure on President Zelensky on the question of why there is no mobilization of those aged 18 to 25 in Ukraine.
At the same time, according to him, the president “continues to convince politicians from both parties to give weapons without changing the conscription age.” At the time, Zelenskyy stated that mobilization from the age of 18 is not yet planned in Ukraine.
On May 18, the law on mobilization entered into force. Among other things, it provides that all conscripts, conscripts and reservists aged 18 to 60 must update their data. You can update the data in the “Rezerv+” mobile application.
The legislation of Ukraine provides for the mobilization of conscripts aged 25 to 60.
