“The athlete told how Elina helps Ukrainian athletes to develop their brandβ, β write: sport.ua
– A few years ago, when Elina Svitolina was still in the middle of her career, she said in our interview that in Ukraine it is very difficult to find a brand that would invest in supporting a player. It is clear that now is an extremely difficult period, the war, but in general, does this market exist in Ukraine?
– I want to say that athletes help each other in the sense that when Elina makes such collaborations as she has now, she shows everyone else an example that it is possible to collaborate with athletes, which is interesting. And it is beneficial for the brand.
Maybe we are not as popular as, for example, show business stars, but we have our values, we have a history, our unique sports history, which can also be integrated into the history of the brand. People are interested in it. Now there is a lot of everything and it is very difficult to stand out. Therefore, this is an example of what can be done. And they are already starting to create it.
It’s difficult because it’s a bit more difficult to negotiate with athletes, and after all, we’re in sports, we have competition schedules. And when they say, say, you have to be there tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, if it’s a media person, she’s open to that, she can fit it into her schedule. And the athlete does not belong to himself.
I have tournament after tournament abroad, now it’s difficult to leave because you don’t fly by plane, so there are all these moments. Of course, this creates difficulties. And those brands that were able to break through these difficulties and still cooperate with an athlete, I think it’s very cool and you should try it.
Although many are afraid, especially long-term because they may be on a tight budget, everyone is afraid of wasting money and things like that. I also understand business, but I need to find my kindred spirit so that it is as cool as possible, then everything will work out, Levchenko said.
