Flucher also critically spoke about the lost opportunity to hold a full -fledged big helmet tournament in the mixture – instead of a show focused on entertainment, names and money.
“This exhibition event will be very fun, but it is not a big helmet, and it is not necessary to perceive it. It is not only about the prize, but the fact that we lose the possibility of a full mix in the tournament. I support innovations and desire to bring something new to tennis, but I do not agree to call it a big helmet tournament, ”he added.
The tournament will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday a week before the main US Open 2025 – August 19 and 20th. It will be attended by 16 pairs: eight best in total rating and eight invitees. Among the stated include Jannik Sinner and Emma Navarro, Carlos Alaras and Emma Radukana, Novak Dzhokovich and his compatriot Olga Danilovich. The winners will receive $ 1 million. All matches will be held in the two main arenas of the tournament – Arthur Ash and Louis Armstrong stadiums – according to abbreviated rules.
