“Volodymyr Sysenko passed away…
The football community of Poltava suffered a heavy loss: on December 7, a specialist, without whom it is impossible to imagine the history of SC “Poltava”, passed away – one of the club’s co-founders, its ideological inspiration and long-term head coach Volodymyr Sysenko.
For Volodymyr Anatoliyovych, football has become a lifelong affair. As a football player, he defended the colors of the clubs of the former USSR and countries of the post-Soviet space, left a significant mark in the composition of “Pamir” from Dushanbe. Later he returned to Ukraine, where he played for Poltava “Vorskla”.
At the end of his playing career, he coached children, instilling in them not only football knowledge, but also love for the game. In 2011, he became one of the founders of SC “Poltava”, which under his leadership went from an amateur team to a member of the Premier League.
Volodymyr Sysenko shaped the football environment of Poltava Oblast, brought up a generation of players and established the principles of a professional approach to business. Thanks to his character, discipline and faith in his wards, SC “Poltava” received a solid foundation for development. For football players, he was a real mentor — demanding in his work and fatherly caring in human relations.
The name of Volodymyr Sysenko will forever remain in the history of Poltava and Ukrainian football. The Ukrainian Premier League expresses its sincere condolences to the family and relatives of Volodymyr Anatoliyovych,” the message reads.
In the current season of the Ukrainian Premier League, SC Poltava occupies the last step of the tournament table, having 9 tournament points to its credit after 14 matches played.
