“We conducted a risk assessment and determined the need for air defense forces and means to partially open the airspace. Security and the military situation remain key to this decision. That is why it is important for us to develop alternative routes for the delivery of cargo and the movement of passengers. Shmyhal added that the aviation infrastructure was significantly damaged as a result of the Russian attacks – at least 15 civilian airports were affected. In addition, over the past three months, the occupiers have carried out almost 60 attacks on the port infrastructure. As a result, almost 300 objects and 22 civilian vessels were damaged or destroyed, dozens of people were injured.
“Despite the constant attempts of the aggressor to cause even greater destruction, thanks to the Defense Forces, we were able to ensure the stable operation of the Ukrainian maritime corridor. Today, more than 2,800 ships used it, which transported more than 75 million tons of cargo for more than 40 countries of the world, of which more than 50 million tons are agricultural products “, the prime minister said.
Resumption of civil air transport – the latest news As UNIAN wrote, Ukrainian airports will be able to resume their work in a little more than a month, after the decision to allow civil air transportation from Ukraine.
In October, the Ministry of Development of Communities and Territories presented a road map for opening Ukrainian airspace under martial law conditions, and Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi said that at least one of Ukraine’s airports should be operational during the war.
