Last week, UAF and adidas presented the new home uniform of the Ukrainian national team, and many fans were unpleasantly surprised by the cost of the update.
You can buy a T-shirt for 4,999 hryvnias, and the original uniform (the same as the players) costs 6,499 hryvnias.
The situation was explained by the well-known journalist and commentator Viktor Vatsko.
“Our fans are worried about the price, I can see it from the comments. It’s €100-€150, and that’s the cost of all national team and club kits that play in this adidas top line. This is the price policy of the manufacturer. We wanted status – we got it.”
“The authentic T-shirts of Dynamo and Shakhtar are a little cheaper, there is a difference there. But I don’t know when UAF signed a contract with adidas, whether price and availability were criteria for them,” Watzko said.
