“Metzola answered “yes” to the question of whether Germany should provide Ukraine with its Taurus weapons system”, — write: www.radiosvoboda.org
Metzola is said to have said yes when asked whether countries that provide Ukraine with long-range missiles should allow it to use them against targets in Russia – and whether Germany should provide Ukraine with its Taurus weapons system.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz does not support allowing Kyiv to use German weapons to hit targets in Russia. He has stated several times that he seeks to avoid the escalation of the conflict.
During a debate in the lower house of the German parliament on March 13, he repeated the thesis that he does not support the supply of long-range Taurus missiles to Ukraine. He stated that for him this is a line that he does not want to cross. The next day, the German Bundestag again did not support the supply of long-range Taurus missiles to Ukraine.
According to the German government, in general, Berlin provided or pledged to provide military aid to Ukraine in the amount of approximately 28 billion euros for the following years.
