Characterizing Pellegrini, the site calls him “an agent of influence of the Russian Federation in the countries of the European Union” who “denies the sovereign right of Ukraine to protect itself from the Russian-fascist invaders.”

“Known as a pro-Russian politician who maintains close ties with Russia and personally with the war criminal Putin, criticizing sanctions and military aid to Ukraine, regularly voicing the theses of the war criminal Putin, is an important ally of Moscow in the EU, emphasizing common interests and political closeness, especially in light of his anti-Western rhetoric,” the website says.

On December 6, Pellegrini said in an interview with STVR that the European Union should stop military support for Ukraine, because it allegedly prolongs the war.

“If we give tens or hundreds of billions more to Ukraine just to buy it weapons and military equipment, we will only continue the conflict, which has devastating consequences for Ukraine,” he said.

Pellegrini’s position on UkraineAs UNIAN previously reported, in the spring Pellegrini stated that Slovakia expects a “gesture of gratitude” from Ukraine, namely to allow gas transit for the fact that the European Union will continue to provide it with assistance.

Also, in the fall of 2024, it became known that he rejected all citizens’ requests to join the Armed Forces. As noted then, since Pellegrini took office in June, four Slovak citizens have filed such appeals. According to Slovak legislation, serving in a foreign army without the consent of the country’s president is a criminal offense – people face prison for this.

In addition, he said that peace will cost Ukraine certain territories. “When it comes to peace, I believe that it is necessary to maintain realism. Today, probably no one in Europe among sane people believes that it will be possible to achieve peace without some partial territorial losses for Ukraine,” Pellegrini said at the end of 2024.
