Today it is about 12 thousand hryvnias per month.
The government has set the amount of payment for those awarded with the distinction/ photo of the Ministry of DefenseThe government has determined the size of the monthly payment for active servicemen and veterans who have been awarded the “Cross of Combat Merit” by the President of Ukraine. This is reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
According to Government Resolution No. 1568, adopted in December 2025, the amount of the monthly cash payment for this category of citizens will be 1.5 of the minimum wage established as of January 1 of the corresponding year, i.e., today it is UAH 12,000 per month.
The government informed that if a person has the right to receive payments for several awards, then he can receive only one – in the amount that he chooses. In particular:
- the “Golden Star” order — UAH 24,000;
- Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky three degrees — 16,000 hryvnias;
- orders “For Courage” of three degrees and Princess Olga of three degrees – UAH 8,000;
- the “Cross of Combat Merit” award — UAH 12,000.
The Cross of Military Merit – what is knownThe “Cross of Combat Merit” award was established by the presidential decree dated May 5, 2022 to honor servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations for outstanding personal courage and bravery or outstanding heroic deeds during combat missions, as well as outstanding successes in managing troops (forces).
Among all military awards, the Cross of Combat Merit is the highest.
On May 7, 2022, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, awarded the first combat awards of independent Ukraine – the “Cross of Combat Merit” awards to five military personnel, as well as the first “For Courage and Courage” awards.
The then Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Valery Zaluzhnyi, became the first knight of the Cross of Combat Merit.
The “Cross of Combat Merit” award was awarded to the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Yevhen Moysiuk, Sergeant Daria Mazurenko, the combat medic of the 72nd Separate Mechanized Brigade, Colonel Oleksandr Okhrimenko, the commander of the 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade, and Captain Vladyslav Kalievskyi, the Deputy Commander of the Mechanized Battalion of the 72nd Separate Mechanized Brigade.
