In Ukraine, the legislation on payments at the birth of a child has been changed / UNIAN collage, photo ua.depositphotos.comToday, November 14, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, signed a law providing for the payment of 50,000 hryvnias upon the birth of a child and introducing a new procedure for the payment of state aid to families with children. This is stated in the card of the law on the website of the Verkhovna Rada.
It is noted that it is about making changes to some laws of Ukraine regarding the support of families with children and creating conditions that facilitate the combination of parenthood and professional activity.
According to the adopted law, upon the birth of a child from January 1, 2026, parents will be able to receive a payment in the amount of 50,000 hryvnias. If two or more children are born, assistance is provided for each child separately.
Payment under the “eYasla” program is also provided, which is support for the care of a child from 1 to 3 years old. It will be provided to those who started working full-time after the child turned one.
In addition, an additional 7 thousand hryvnias per month is provided for pregnant women who are not officially working.
We will remind that the Verkhovna Rada voted for the corresponding law on November 5.
New payments from the stateOn November 1, the president instructed the government to develop a “winter support” package for Ukrainians. It was planned to provide assistance based on the example of last year, when citizens were paid a thousand hryvnias as part of the winter support program.
Also, Zelenskyi announced at the time that free rail travel for 3,000 kilometers would be implemented for Ukrainians. This program was named “UZ-3000”.
On November 13, the government approved the mechanism for paying aid to citizens under the “Winter Support” program. Every Ukrainian will be able to receive a one-time payment of 1,000 hryvnias. It will be possible to use these funds until June 30, 2026. The government expects 11 million citizens to make payments.
