The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, had a telephone conversation with the President of France, Emmanuel Macron.
The head of the Ukrainian state spoke in detail about the situation on the battlefield. In particular, about the tasks that the Russian dictator sets before the command: capture Pokrovsk and reach the borders of the Kursk region, even at the cost of large losses in manpower. For this, the Russian group in Kurshchyna was increased to 60,000. At the same time, Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukrainian soldiers are holding their positions, destroying Russian potential in the border areas, and this is very important.
The President of Ukraine also informed about the consequences of shelling of Ukrainian civilian infrastructure by the Russian Federation and thanked France for its readiness to help with the urgent strengthening of air defense, in particular at the tactical level.
The leaders instructed to intensify the dialogue between the ministries of defense regarding the joint production of some types of weapons.
Separately, Volodymyr Zelensky thanked France for military support: the supply of defense packages, among other long-range capabilities, the training of the “Anna Kyivska” brigade and the acceleration of the transfer of Mirage aircraft.
The presidents agreed that it is necessary to hold a meeting at the level of key partners of Ukraine for maximum and timely strengthening of Ukrainian positions. Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that this is necessary in order to bring a just peace closer, and this can only be done in strong positions. That is why Ukraine needs an invitation to NATO, the expansion of long-range capabilities and the continuation of training and equipping brigades – both on the territory of allied countries, and within the framework of the development of the idea proposed by France regarding training missions on Ukrainian territory.
Separately, the Ukrainian Head of State said that he is waiting for decisive signals from the meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Council, which will be held at the level of foreign ministers.
