The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, met with the President of the United States of America, Joseph Biden, in Washington and presented him with the Victory Plan.

The head of the Ukrainian state thanked Joseph Biden for his decisive support and decisions that help protect Ukraine and Ukrainians.

“We deeply appreciate the fact that Ukraine and America stood side by side from the first moments of this terrible Russian invasion. Your determination is incredibly important for our victory,” said Volodymyr Zelenskyi.

The president also thanked for the announced $7.9 billion package that will help Ukrainian soldiers on the front lines.

“I want to thank you for all the years of supporting Ukraine and our independence. I remember how important your phone call to Kyiv was on the first day of the Russian invasion. And I also remember your visit to Ukraine at a critical moment in February 2023 – it was a brave decision,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized.

He presented the President of the United States with the Victory Plan. The leaders discussed the diplomatic, economic and military aspects of the Plan and instructed their teams to consult on next steps.

On October 12, Joseph Biden will hold a meeting of the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine in Germany at the level of leaders. The presidents of Ukraine and the United States will meet bilaterally to review the progress of the consultations, as well as with international partners to coordinate additional assistance to Ukraine.

Joseph Biden assured that he would provide Ukraine with all the support necessary for victory, and announced the decision to increase security assistance.

“First, we must now strengthen Ukraine’s position on the battlefield, and that is why today I am proud to announce a new $2.4 billion security assistance package. I have also instructed the Pentagon to allocate all funds remaining within the limits of security assistance, which were intended for Ukraine, by the end of my term, that is, by January 20. And this will strengthen Ukraine’s position in future negotiations. Secondly, we are looking ahead to help Ukraine achieve success in the long term,” the US President noted.
