I want to especially thank you for your participation in the Peace Summit – it was very important, and we remember it. The format was successful. Now we are preparing the second Summit. We must end this war, we need a just peace. We must protect our people – Ukrainian families, Ukrainian children – and everyone from Putin’s evil. And we are grateful to America for supporting Ukraine all this time.
We have an important meeting today, right after I spoke with President Biden about the Victory Plan. I will share the details of the Plan with Vice President Harris. It is very important for us to be fully clear and to work in full coordination with the United States. This morning I spoke with members of Congress from both houses, from both parties. And I’m grateful for bipartisan support. We believe that this war can be won and that a just peace can only be closer to the United States.
Madam Vice President, this is our seventh meeting, as you said, and not the last. And, as I remember, the third meeting this year. Thank you. I want to inform you about the latest events on the battlefield, as well as about the actions of Ukraine in the Kursk region – about what has been achieved and about our ambitions for the future. Today, as you mentioned, we have a strong new support package and we have a shared vision of what needs to be done. We must keep up the pressure on Russia to stop the war and achieve a truly lasting and just peace. This is the main priority for us and for other freedom-loving peoples – to achieve real peace, not freezing. That is why we must keep the sanctions against Russia tough and use the proceeds from frozen Russian assets to protect Ukraine, our people, our cities, our front line from Russian evil. And, of course, we must work hard to bring all Russian war criminals to justice.
And one more thing.
I want to inform Ms. Vice President about the latest Russian attacks with the use of missiles and “shaheeds” on the Ukrainian energy infrastructure. We urgently need to strengthen Ukraine’s air defenses to save thousands of lives and reduce Russian terror to zero. It is achievable.
