President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi had a telephone conversation with Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz.
The head of state thanked Olaf Scholz for the defense support of Ukraine, the total amount of which is 12 billion euros, and especially for the leadership role in strengthening the air defense and German air defense systems, and thanks to the consolidation of assistance from partners.
The leaders discussed the continuation of defense cooperation, including the possibility of joint production of weapons and increasing the capabilities of the Patriot and IRIS-T systems.
The chancellor assured that Germany will continue to provide defense support to Ukraine, and informed about his telephone conversation with Vladimir Putin.
The President of Ukraine stated that the Russian dictator is not interested in ending the war and uses every international contact to spread threats and ultimatums. Only a strong position of Ukraine can force him to abandon his own intentions.
