Long-range is the key to ending this war – the President’s address

A terrorist state must feel what war is like. We are working to ensure that as many Russian military facilities, Russian logistics, critical facilities of their military economy as possible are within the reach of our weapons.”, — write: www.president.gov.ua

Dear Ukrainians, Ukrainian women!

Today, Russia once again attacked Kharkiv like a beast. As of this time, there are almost fifty victims. All are provided with the necessary assistance. Rescuers continue to dismantle the rubble, there was information about people under the rubble. Common civilian objects: shopping center, Sports Palace, urban buildings. Each such attack on Kharkiv, on other of our cities and villages proves the correctness of our tactics, particularly in the Kursk region – we must push the war home, from where it was brought to Ukraine. And not only in the border areas of Russia. A terrorist state must feel what war is like. We are working to ensure that as many Russian military facilities, Russian logistics, critical facilities of their military economy as possible are within the reach of our weapons. Now our drones provide this, and I thank everyone in Ukraine who works for the development and production of drones. And also to everyone who works for our missile program. And to the entire foreign policy team of our country, which convinces partners that long-range capability is the key to ending this war. With our drones and missiles, we are able to perform some of the tasks. But real peace, a real end to this war is a complex task. And to force Russia to make peace, so that they move from false rhetoric about negotiations to steps to end the war, to cleanse our land of occupation and occupiers, effective tools are needed. I know that these days and weeks our friends in the world – and journalists who are spreading the truth about this war, and a large number of leaders of states, public leaders, politicians – are saying how important it is to bring peace and save lives to have authorizations for long-range strikes and appropriate long-range missiles and projectiles. And it depends on President Biden, Prime Minister Starmer, President Macron, Chancellor Scholz and others. I thank everyone who convinces the world to be strong and finally defeat Russian terror. No Russian missile, no Russian strike should be left without a fair response – a response with weapons, sanctions, the right policy and economic support for Ukraine, and a response of justice towards Russia.

Today I signed several new sanctions decisions – NSDC sanctions. Almost 150 subjects are legal entities and individuals that ensure the operation of Russia’s aviation infrastructure. Also another package of sanctions against collaborators. Those who chose to work for evil – for war. And the task for all representatives of Ukraine is to do everything to ensure that Ukrainian sanctions are synchronized with world sanctions. And today there was a report by the Chairman of the Syrskyi Committee. First of all, about the Pokrovsky direction. About our actions to deter Russian strikes there and to destroy as many of the occupier’s forces as possible. And there was also a report on the operation in the Kursk region – every day provides us with replenishment of the “exchange fund”. I thank each of our divisions for this!

And one more thing. I want to thank the rescuers who work specifically in the Kharkiv region – the entire team of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region. And especially – Yuriy Siriy, Eduard Sokolov, Serhii Bilous, Oleksandr Chelak, Volodymyr Mykhailychenko. And today I would also like to recognize Mykyta Ivanyuk – a police captain working in the Kharkiv region, and Oleg Sheremet – an “emergency” paramedic, who showed themselves in helping our people. Thank you and all your colleagues! Thanks to everyone who is with Ukraine!

Glory to Ukraine!
