Manchester United are monitoring the situation with Borussia Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi. According to the Daily Mail with reference to Bild, the English club’s interest is related to contract issues and the player’s strained relationship with the team’s head coach Niko Kovac.

The 23-year-old attacker has not been able to mark himself with effective actions since October 1. During a match against Cologne on 25 October, Adeyemi threw a water bottle towards the bench during a substitution, which drew criticism from Kovacs. The coach emphasized that such an act is unacceptable for an adult football player.

Adeyemi is under contract until 2027, but his agency is pushing for a new long-term deal with an option to buy in the region of £70m. Normally, Borussia does not include waivers in contracts, but in this case the club can make an exception.

Adeyemi is understood to have recently signed a deal with agent Jorge Mendes, who has good connections with Manchester United and was involved in the transfers of Leni Yoro and Manuel Ugarte. According to sources, Mendes can play a key role in the possible transfer of the winger to the English club.

Karim Adeyemi played 121 matches for Borussia, scoring 29 goals and providing 22 assists.

It was previously reported that the transfer market is intensifying around Ter Stegen.
