The head coach of Borussia Dortmund, Niko Kovacs, spoke after the victory over Augsburg (1:0) in the ninth round of the German Bundesliga. The official website of the German championship quotes the Croatian specialist.

“Tough game. We knew it would be difficult against a team fighting for survival. They are especially motivated for Friday night games. You need to be efficient and score goals and it worked today.

I’m not happy with the way we possessed the ball, but we showed dedication, passion and spirit. We have everything to play better and we have to do it. Everyone in the team wants to dominate the opponents, but it has to be demonstrated on the field.

On the other hand, we played reliably in defense and did not concede. This is a good sign of the team’s progress,” Kovacs said.

Borussia D is currently second in the Bundesliga standings, four points behind leaders Bayern.
