This is stated in a response that the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications provided to the author’s petitions Alexander Leonenko. The author himself reported and published the Ministry’s response.

“The government sent a petition for consideration to the National Council of Ukraine on Television and Radio Broadcasting, as this body has the authority to negotiate with foreign companies (strings platforms) and conclude an agreement with them to block Russian musical content in Ukraine,” Leonenko wrote.

In response, the Ministry of Culture states that the National Council of Ukraine for Television and Radio Broadcasting should answer the author of the petition “within the term specified by law”.

Petition on the ban on Russian music on strings: what is knownAs previously reported by UNIAN, in February 2025, famous singers and public figures publicly expressed indignation due to the presence of five tracks of the Russian rapper Morgenshtern in the top 10 musical charts of Ukraine on Apple Music and Spotify platforms.

Against the background of these news, Oleksandr Leonenko created a petition on the Cabinet website to consolidate at the state level the ban on such musical products in Ukraine.

Collection of signatures under a petition prohibition to spread music by the aggressor country on strings began on February 17. As of February 21, it was supported by more than 28,000 citizens with a minimum amount of 25 thousand.
