In the first half of the month, the intensity of the fighting was affected by the offensive in the Kursk region.
In their Telegram channel, analysts noted that this month was very difficult for the military, especially in the Pokrovsky direction. They recalled that the General Staff of the Armed Forces reported on 215 combat clashes with the Russian invaders on August 29.
“The average daily number of battles amounted to as many as 145, while the second half of the month had an average of 164 (!) clashes per day. We will remind you that due to the battles in Kurshchyna, the intensity decreased in the first half of August,” the report says.

There, the Russian occupiers continue to put pressure on the formations of Ukrainian fighters near Vozdvizhenka, Zeleny Poly, Kalinovy, Grodivka, Novogrodivka, Karlivka, Marynivka, and Mykhailivka. Defenders repelled 58 attacks, four more are ongoing.
Maxim Zhorin, deputy commander of the 3rd assault brigade, believes that the capture of Pokrovsk will provide the Russian invaders with several options for further offensive.
