A special view”. The documentary project deals with one of the most difficult topics of the war — the punishment for Russia’s war crimes and the mechanisms of international justice. Using the example of the tragedy that occurred on January 14, 2023 in Dnipro, when the Kh-22 missile hit a residential building, killing 46 people, it will be shown how Ukraine is already working on punishing war criminals today.

The new documentary from TSN will show the unique testimonies of eyewitnesses, including Kateryna Zelenska, who survived the moment a rocket hit her house, remaining under the rubble for 20 hours. Stories of families who lost loved ones, in particular, the Vitaliyeva sisters, whose family was killed by a rocket.

The film reveals the behind-the-scenes work of international justice. How does The Hague prepare trials? Who collects and analyzes evidence of war crimes? How do Ukrainian human rights defenders cooperate with international institutions in order to bring the sentence for the guilty closer?

In addition, the documentary delves into the lessons of history, exploring why Soviet criminals were not punished at the Nuremberg Trials and how unpunished evil returned in the form of new aggression. Can the world break the cycle of impunity this time? Will international pressure and a legal mechanism be enough to bring to justice the main aggressor of the 21st century?

Don’t miss the premiere of the documentary “Tribunal for Putin” on December 7 at 11:00 p.m. on 1+1 Ukraine.
