The head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umyerov said that Lithuania will finance the production of Ukrainian long-range drones.

This was reported by the Ministry of Defense, “European Truth” reports.

As reported, Lithuania will finance the production of Ukrainian long-range drones.

Umerov signed the corresponding memorandum in Vilnius with his Lithuanian colleague Laurinas Kaschyunas.

Umerov said that this is a long-term agreement, within the framework of which the first tranche of 10 million euros has already been agreed.

“Lithuania is directing these funds to the production of Ukrainian long-range weapons, in particular the Palyanitsa project,” the head of the defense department shared.

The minister also noted that the Lithuanian side is already working on finalizing bureaucratic procedures, and the first tranche to support Ukrainian DeepStrike will be transferred in the near future.

In addition to signing the memorandum, the heads of defense departments discussed key priorities for 2025: training and equipping Ukrainian brigades, providing ammunition, air defense equipment, and developing cooperation in the defense industry.

We will remind you that in August, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi reported on the first successful combat use of a new weapon – the Ukrainian long-range missile-drone “Palyanytsia”.

Almost all information about the Palyanytsia drone missile is classified. It is known that two dozen Russian military airfields are within its scope. It will be launched from a ground platform.

Last week, Rustem Umerov said that Norway finances the production of Ukrainian weapons and equipment, thereby joining the “Danish model” of military support to Ukraine.

Last month, the Prime Ministers of Iceland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden at the Ukraine – Northern Europe summit expressed interest in further cooperation with the Ukrainian defense industry.
